The house is situated in a quiet area, 5 minutes walk from the centre of the village with bars, cafes, pizzeria – Italian restaurant, minimarket with baker, bank. In the morning fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, bread rolls are offered in the market. Only about 10 minutes by car is the main village Calheta with one of the few sandy beaches and bathing bays of the island, a supermarket, gas station, restaurants, fish restaurants and a harbour promenade with bars, shops as well as the possibility for boat tours and whale watching along the fascinating coast. Further worth seeing, the museum Casa das Mudas, with great architecture and art – exhibitions, like the old rum factory, once a year an island typical Aquardente is produced from sugar cane of the surroundings.
